About the letter wheel
The letter wheel draws a random letter from the 26 letters of the alphabet in one click: perfect for Scattergories-style word games, finding a baby name or character initial, running a classroom activity, or kicking off a party game. Each letter has exactly a 1-in-26 chance of coming up, no bias, no favorite letter. Spin the letter wheel again as many times as you like for a new round.

How to play
Click Draw
The tool selects a letter from A to Z, each of the 26 Latin alphabet letters having exactly equal probability of being drawn.
Call out the letter
In Scattergories or any alphabet game, announce the letter immediately to start the timer. Everyone plays from the same starting point with no advantage for anyone.
Re-draw for the next round
Once the round ends, a new draw gives the letter for the next series: no cheating, no favouritism, no negotiation required.

Skip rare letters
If W, X or Y causes problems under your house rules, simply re-draw when one comes up. Or agree upfront on which letters are in play for that session.
Foreign language challenge
Draw a letter and require answers in a target language (French, Spanish). Great for language classes or vocabulary revision sessions.
Two-letter combo
Draw twice: find words that start with the first letter and end with the second. An advanced Scattergories variant for expert players.

Do all 26 letters have equal probability?
Yes. Every letter from A to Z has exactly 1-in-26 chance of being drawn each time. No bias, no letter is favoured over another.
Can I exclude certain letters?
Not directly in this tool. To skip W, X, Y or Z under your house rules, just re-draw if one comes up, or set up a Wheelo wheel with your own custom letter list.
Can I draw multiple letters at once?
Not in this version. To draw several letters simultaneously, open the main Wheelo wheel and add all 26 letters in multi-draw mode.
Does this work for non-Latin alphabets?
This tool covers the 26 standard Latin letters. For other scripts (Cyrillic, Greek, Japanese kana), enter the characters you want directly in the Wheelo wheel.
